BFD Barrel projects
This is the current information regarding BFD barrel aging projects. New information will be posted as we go forward. Recipe's used in the barrel projects can be posted as comments to this posting. This will be updated from time to time as needed.

English Barleywine recipe from Mike Robinson
Mike's??English Style Barley Wine
75 IBU, 1115 OG/27 P, 22 SRM, 5.5 gal, Single infusion, 70% efficiency, 2 hr. boil.

Corn Sugar, 1.0
Hop Schedule

Northern Brewer 1.6 oz, 55 ibu, 90 min
Fuggles 2.0 oz, 17 ibu, 30 min
Fuggles 1.0 oz, 5 min
Fuggles 1.0 oz, 2 min
Fuggles 1.0 oz, 0 min
(Substitutes for Fuggles??= Stryian Goldings, Goldings, or EKG)
Whirlfloc or Irish Moss

S04 Dry English Yeast (Whitbread) *and* WLP 002 or 033 (2 yeasts)
Rehydrate the dry yeast.??Use yeast nutrient??in the boil at 15 min. remaining.
Mash Schedule

I shoot the low end of the sach rest. So 148-150 deg F. Stir the mash at 1/2 way through and adjust your mash temp (if possible). The idea is to produce more fermentables.
Pure Oxygen 2 minutes.
